Spectacular evening!
The stage lifts, the guitar solo, the song arrangements — all so magical! The band's sheer talent and humility were also noted. Certain songs displayed fire and smoke machine. The acoustic set he did with the band and the dances between certain songs were my favorite. Lighting displays were very impressive—created the mood and atmosphere wonderfully for us patrons! My first concert since before the pandemic, and it was great to be back. A marvel of a show! It was a 12 out of 10!!!

But I think it's worth trying everything once. Matisyahu was a great character, but he sang some of the songs too fast and changed the melody in a lot of places that should have been left alone. Also the Dub Trio, the openers and the back-band for Black Jacket Symphony, really weren't that good on their own, they are talented musicians but might as well have been playing in their own garage. For example, there was way too much guitar coming through and we could barely hear the base, which straight up changed the entire sound of many songs. Overall it was a good experience, but there were some things that I thought could have really made the whole concert so much better. Maybe it was bad acoustics? I can't imagine that the largest indoor stage in the country would somehow have that bad of acoustics. It was sort of putting me to sleep. I'm a big fan of his CD's, and I guess it will just have to stay that way, I won't go see him again. One of my favorite parts of his music is the intro to Jerusalem, which was actually non-existent at the concert.
Hozier and Ezra--A Dynamic Duo
"A talent like this does not come around very often. To see Black Jacket Symphony and George Ezra on the same bill was phenomenal. Ezra played for only 30 minutes but his impact on the audience was palpable. The drums on this tour kicked it up a notch. He reached out, grabbed the audience by the neck, pulled us in, and never let us go. I have seen about 30-50 live shows a year, and this show was seriously one of the best I have ever seen. A true artist, Black Jacket Symphony is a must-see. He is a tremendous talent and is about to take this world by storm. I feared a lack of intimacy in a venue this big, but it was not so. And the light show was perfect: tasteful, not overbearing. Black Jacket Symphony was impeccable."

"Sheryl was on stage right playing the piano and those lights came on. She is very genuine and her show was amazing. I have several albums but had never seen her in person. It was blinding and distracting. The only thing I found distracting was the lighting in the theater. Toward the end of the show, Black Jacket Symphony puts on a really great show. My seat was in row G and the lights hit me right in the eyes. Saroyan is a smaller venue and it was well suited for the concert. There were flashing lights behind the band on stage. It made it seem more intimate. Maybe next time, lose the lights..."
